Email Deliverability Checker
This free email deliverability checker tests a domain's email DNS setup (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, BIMI and blocklists) and scores it out of 100, with a fix for every gap.
What this deliverability test checks
It checks everything a receiving mail server looks up in DNS before deciding what to do with your mail: your mail servers, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS and TLS reporting, your BIMI logo record, and whether your main mail server is on a blocklist.
It doesn't send a test email. Whether a message lands in the inbox also depends on its content, how much and how often you send, how people react to it, and your sending reputation. No DNS check can see those.
How the score works
Each check earns full points when everything passes, half when there are warnings, and none when it's missing or failing. The weights are: MX 15, SPF 20, DKIM 20, DMARC 25, MTA-STS 5, TLS-RPT 5, BIMI 5, not blacklisted 5.
If a check can't be completed, for example because a lookup times out, it's left out and the score covers the rest. DKIM gets half points when we can't find a key on the common selectors, because your provider may use one we didn't try.
Fix the big three first
SPF, DKIM and DMARC carry 65 of the 100 points for a reason: they're the checks receivers rely on most, and since February 2024 Gmail and Yahoo require all three from bulk senders.
Add MTA-STS, TLS reporting and BIMI once those pass. Every section of the report links to a dedicated checker with more detail.
Frequently asked questions
Does this send a test email?
No. It checks the DNS records that decide whether receivers trust your mail. For the delivery path of a real message, paste its headers into the email header analyzer.
Why did DKIM only get half points?
Either the key is weaker than recommended (under 2048 bits) or we couldn't find it on the common selectors. Enter your selector in the DKIM checker to check it directly.
What's a good score?
85 is a fully passing core setup: MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC at enforcement, and not blocklisted. The last 15 points come from MTA-STS, TLS reporting and BIMI, which are good practice but optional.
Can I share the report?
Yes. The page address includes the domain, so copying the link from your browser shares the same check. It runs fresh each time it's opened.
My score is high but mail still goes to spam. Why?
DNS is only the foundation. Content, sending volume, complaint rates and the reputation of your sending IP and domain matter too. Check your server's IP on the blacklist check and look at the headers of a message that went to spam.
