BIMI Checker
This free BIMI checker reads a domain's BIMI record, checks the SVG logo against the BIMI rules, and confirms the DMARC policy that inbox logos depend on.
What is BIMI?
BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) lets your logo appear next to your emails in mail apps that support it. It's a TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain that points to your logo.
Mailbox providers only show the logo for mail that passes DMARC, and only when your DMARC policy is at enforcement: p=quarantine or p=reject, applied to all of your mail.
What makes a BIMI logo valid
A BIMI logo must be an SVG in the SVG Tiny Portable/Secure profile (baseProfile="tiny-ps"), served over HTTPS, with a title, no scripts and no external references. It should be square, and the file can be 32 KB at most.
Gmail also requires a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or Common Mark Certificate (CMC), linked from the record's a= tag. We check that one is listed, but we don't validate the certificate itself.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a VMC certificate?
For Gmail, yes: it shows BIMI logos only with a VMC or CMC. A VMC needs a registered trademark for the logo. A CMC is the newer option for logos that aren't trademarked.
The checker passes but my logo doesn't show. Why?
Each mailbox provider decides when to show logos, and some also look at your sending volume and reputation. Make sure DMARC passes on real mail, and give it time after you publish the record.
How do I make an SVG Tiny PS logo?
Start from a square vector version of your logo, then convert it with a BIMI-ready tool or by hand: version="1.2" and baseProfile="tiny-ps" on the svg element, a title with your brand name, and no scripts, images or animation.
Is it safe to preview my logo here?
Yes. We show it as an image, and images can't run scripts. If the file contains a script, we don't preview it at all and flag it instead.
