Is this the KYC service, or the WHMCS connector?
The WHMCS connector. The verification engine is Sumsub — you sign up at sumsub.com, choose your plan (Basic is what most hosting providers need), and paste the API credentials into our addon. The addon handles every WHMCS-side piece: order holds, client emails, the verification page, the admin dashboard, auto-activation.
How long does setup take?
Under 10 minutes on a running WHMCS. Upload the ZIP, activate it in WHMCS Admin → Addons, paste your Sumsub API key and secret, pick which product groups require KYC. The installation guide walks every step.
What Sumsub plan do I need?
The addon works with Sumsub's Basic tier out of the box — ID document, liveness, and face match, which covers what most WHMCS hosting providers need for onboarding. Sumsub's own pricing is managed at sumsub.com — always check their site for current rates.
Does it work outside the EU?
Yes. Sumsub supports 220+ countries and 14,000+ document types worldwide. The addon doesn't filter by region — whichever markets your WHMCS serves, verification follows. Check your own local rules to decide whether KYC is mandatory or a fraud-prevention choice.
Do my clients have to leave WHMCS to verify?
No. The Sumsub WebSDK is embedded inside your client area at /index.php?m=sumsub. Your branding, your theme, your domain.
What happens to orders that fail KYC?
They stay in "Pending KYC" status in WHMCS. You can resubmit, manually approve, or cancel from the admin dashboard. Clients receive automatic email notifications explaining next steps. The addon never silently cancels a paid order.
Can I require KYC only for some products?
Yes. In the addon settings you pick which product groups trigger KYC — typically higher-risk products like VPS, dedicated, or domain orders. Regular shared hosting keeps auto-activating without verification.
Which WHMCS versions and themes are supported?
WHMCS 8.x and later on PHP 8.2 or newer. The client-side templates are designed for Lagom2 and Twenty-One themes; other themes render with the standard WHMCS Bootstrap styles.
Is this affiliated with Sumsub?
No. The addon is independently developed by TPC Hosting and integrates Sumsub through their public API and SDK. Sumsub and the Sumsub logo are trademarks of Sum and Substance Ltd. You buy Sumsub services directly from Sumsub.
