This article covers TPC Hosting's email usage rules, sending limits, and requirements for mailing lists and newsletters.
General rule — consent is required
Commercial emails may only be sent to recipients who have given their prior, explicit consent. Sending to contacts who have not opted in is prohibited.
Email limits
- Maximum attachment size: 30 MB
- Maximum recipients per message: 25
- Recommended sending rate for bulk mail: no more than 50 emails per minute
Mailing list requirements
If you send newsletters or bulk email, the following rules apply:
- Use double opt-in — subscribers must confirm their subscription via email
- Include a clearly visible unsubscribe link in every message
- Include the sender's valid postal or business address in every message (required by GDPR and ePrivacy Directive)
- Keep records of subscriber consent for the lifetime of the list
- Regularly clean your list — remove invalid, bounced, and unengaged addresses
Transactional vs. marketing email
Transactional emails (order confirmations, password resets, account notifications) are exempt from the consent and unsubscribe requirements above. However, they must not contain marketing content.
Best practices for bulk sending
- Schedule bulk sends for off-peak hours (before 09:00 or after 22:00)
- Avoid large CC/BCC lists — a single invalid address can hold up the entire message
- Use dedicated email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Brevo) for large-scale campaigns
Monitoring and intervention
TPC Hosting monitors outbound SMTP traffic. If your sending volume is excessive for your plan, we may throttle or queue your outbound email and contact you to discuss alternatives. In cases where blacklisting is imminent, queued messages may be deleted without prior notice.
