AWStats is a log-based analytics tool built into cPanel. It shows detailed visitor statistics based on your server's access logs — without requiring JavaScript on your website or a third-party tracking service.

Open AWStats

  1. Log in at https://tpc-hosting.com/login and open cPanel.
  2. Under Metrics, click AWStats.
  3. Select the domain you want to view statistics for.
  4. Click View — AWStats opens in a new tab.

What AWStats shows

  • Visits and unique visitors — number of sessions and distinct IP addresses
  • Pages viewed — most visited pages and entry/exit pages
  • Bandwidth — total data transferred
  • Countries — geographic origin of visitors based on IP
  • Browsers and operating systems
  • Referrers — where visitors came from (search engines, other websites, direct)
  • Search keywords — terms used to reach your site via search engines
  • Robots and crawlers — search engine bot activity
  • 404 errors — pages visitors tried to access that do not exist

Navigate by month

Use the month selector at the top of the AWStats page to view historical data. AWStats keeps logs for as long as they are retained on the server.

Limitations to be aware of

  • AWStats counts server-side requests, so it includes bot traffic alongside real visitors.
  • Visitors who are served content from a CDN cache (e.g., Cloudflare) may not appear in AWStats, as those requests do not reach your server.
  • Stats update approximately every 24 hours, not in real time.
  • For marketing analytics and conversion tracking, pair AWStats with Google Analytics.
