Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of security to your TPC Hosting client area login. Even if your password is compromised, an attacker cannot log in without your authenticator device. We strongly recommend enabling it.
What you need
A TOTP authenticator app on your phone:
- Google Authenticator (iOS / Android)
- Authy (iOS / Android / desktop)
- Microsoft Authenticator (iOS / Android)
Enable 2FA
- Log in at https://tpc-hosting.com/login.
- Click your name in the top right corner → Security Settings.
- Find the Two-Factor Authentication section and click Click here to Enable.
- A QR code is displayed. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code:
- In Google Authenticator: tap + → Scan QR code
- In Authy: tap Add Account → Scan QR code
- Your authenticator app generates a 6-digit code. Enter it in the Verification Code field in the client area.
- Click Submit.
2FA is now active. Every time you log in, you will be asked for the current code from your app after entering your password.
2FA for cPanel
The client area and cPanel have separate 2FA settings. To enable 2FA for your cPanel account as well:
- Open cPanel.
- Under Security, click Two-Factor Authentication.
- Follow the same QR code setup process.
It is recommended to use a separate entry in your authenticator app for cPanel and the client area.
Lost access to your authenticator
If you lose your phone or cannot access your authenticator app, contact TPC Hosting support with proof of identity. Support can disable 2FA on your account after verification so you can regain access and set up a new device.
Disable 2FA
- Log in to the client area.
- Go to your name → Security Settings.
- Find Two-Factor Authentication and click Disable.
- Enter the current code from your authenticator app to confirm.
